YOGA IS A PATH TO HEALTH AND HARMONY. BUT ARE YOU SURE YOUR PRACTICE IS SAFE?

If you want to learn how to take care of your body while practicing yoga; if you experience pain in certain postures and would like to know what common mistakes should be avoided to keep from straining the joints and protect the spine, this is the workshop for you.

Most of us turn to yoga in search of peace or for health reasons. That is why it’s shocking to see how few are actually aware of the health & safety principles of movement. I’m always in disbelief at how little mention there is in yoga and fitness alike about those basic guidelines that protect us from injury.

As a participant, I have fallen victim to the same approach that puts performance before safety, or simply ignores this subject altogether. And I have definitely experienced the dire consequences. It has taken me years of practice, observing my movement patterns and listening to, instead of numbing the pain, to learn how to keep my body safe and establish a healthy approach to exercise.

By raising body awareness, reestablishing muscular balance and relinquishing bad habits, for over a decade now, I have managed to avoid injuries and the back pain I was dealing with, has completely disappeared.

I have devised this workshop in order to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years and raise awareness about the dangers of mindless exercise. I will discuss the most common mistakes, correct alignment issues and give you the necessary tools to ensure a safe yoga practice.

This workshop will be based on the yogic vocabulary and will focus on issues specific for this practice. However, I am in the process of devising a similar seminar spanning across a broad range of fitness activities. If you are interested in Safety & Adjustments for Fitness, please let us know.
